The White Rabbit – Deep Dive

About
The White Rabbit is one interpretation of the Wonderland white rabbit. This surrealistic world reveals several varieties of the white rabbit, this one featuring a miniture top hat, a ruff collar, romper, and a lollipop of temptation to enter the world.
Traditionally the white rabbit is late checking on his pocket watch rendered in the frame above the painting with a hand-sculpted clockface.
Imagery
The red-capped, fly agaric mushrooms symbolize the surreal. The world viewed is nonsensical, whimsical, and a bit bizarre at times.
The lollipop is a modernized temptation that Alice faced in her adventure. Here the white rabbit presents the young Frida with a chance for her own adventure with the command written, “eat me”.
Frame
A modernized tabernacle frame, the hand-made frame was created and customized in Skye’s studio.
The frame’s crown is a classick “egg-and-dart” style.
A hand-sculpted clock face appears at the top of the frame representing the traditional white rabbit’s pocket watch.
This is a working clock set with a dial in the back and runs on one AA battery.
The frame is adorned with Skye’s signature stylized flowers and mushrooms.
