The Encounter depicts the meeting of young Frida and the white rabbit before both adventure further into Wonderland.
Frida who would become one of the world’s greatest and celebrated surrealist, embraces the encounter with the anthropomorphic rabbit.
Imagery
The young Frida is noted with her signature monobrow bookended by Skye’s classic flowers.
The melting pocket watch on the white rabbit’s arm pays homage to the original surrealist, Salvador Dali, and his Persistence of Memory painting.
A Miffy doll appears leaning aginst the stem of a mushroom representing the familiar and the comforting safety.
We know the characters are in no danger when a pop culture character is nearby.
Red-capped mushrooms again represent the surreal and bizarre.
Frame
The triangular crowned modern tabernacle frame trimmed with gold depicts the pop culture icon Miffy.
This Miffy bust is sculpted with a polymer clay, baked at 275 degrees.
Additional Miffy’s are dancing along the top border of the frame.
Skye’s signature flowers surround red-capped mushrooms all bookended by leaves of green.
